This transformation highlights Ben Utting’s ability to completely reimagine both the form and function of an existing kitchen footprint. The original space—defined by dated finishes, heavy soffits, and segmented sightlines—was opened up by removing the overhead soffit and refining the structural supports to create a cleaner, more contemporary architectural flow.
Ben crafted the new cabinetry in white oak, bringing warmth, durability, and a refined natural grain that elevates the entire space. The streamlined cabinet design, paired with modern hardware and integrated appliance panels, delivers a cohesive, furniture-grade aesthetic while significantly improving storage and workflow.
The redesigned peninsula and expanded prep surfaces enhance everyday usability while visually connecting the kitchen to the surrounding living areas and outdoor views. The result is a bright, modernized environment that blends structural ingenuity with handcrafted millwork—transforming the kitchen into a functional showpiece built for gathering, cooking, and entertaining.
